    Burnham base ray radiator

I have Burnham base-ray radiators in my house, which i have owned for 7 years....they work great with the exception of one in our family room which is slowly leaking water out along what looks like a seam...started out as rust spot but has now progressed to slowly leaking...have emailed company yesterday in regards to finding a contractor in my area (Tewksbury MA - north of boston) but have received no answer..would my regular oil burned contractor be able to fix this or can someone lead me to someone in my area?? any help/guidance is appreciated..john
  • sounds like

Sounds like the push nipples are going bad. Very replaceable... Sorry I'm way out of your area. Make sure you get a real boiler pro to do the job.... Those cast iron radiators are considered the 2nd best for heat and comfort....

The nipples that connect the various sections of Baseray baseboard together are indeed replaceable. This can occur after a period of time as buildings settle a bit. I would check with your own company first about this. We can hook them up with a local source in the Boston area for the nipples as well as a tool to draw the sections together. I will be with some of our Boston area representatives tomorrow and will ask about contractors in your area that have worked with the Baseray. I'll keep in touch when I get back tomorrow night or Wednesday.

this particular section is where two 3 foot sections have been joined together as part of a larger 20 foot section.

the long run is the problem . been there done that it stinks. you need to break it into 2 sections wa valve enclosure in between.cast iron bb dont like long continous sections . i try not to exceed 12 feet per section.

I'd give Bobby Gagnon in Lowell a call He's one of the best in your area . And I'd agree Base ray is an Excellent radiator.
