im currently reading dans book pumping away and i have a question i wish to be answered......on page 49 of the book he says i leave the boiler under full size piping(1 1/4)to a tee and pipe 1/2 in boiler drain to the top ....now this is my question do i precede to keep it full size or when do i reduce to 3/4 for my baseboard piping.....thx so much ...john c.

If you take a closer look
at the drawing (pg.48), I think what he`s saying is stay full size up to the point of your drain valve, as your power-purging everything back towards the boiler. After this, you can use whatever pipe size your system requires. BTW- don`t forget the "ball or gate valve" to separate the two sides.
