    What's the

best way to install a slab sensor in a concrte slab? I assume a tube would have to be run so if the sensor goes bad it could be replaced. I also assume it shoud be water proof so the sensor doesnt get corroded and fail. How far from the perimeter wall? Any hints or tricks are appreciated. WW

is what I use. Just put a plug in the end and lay it in the pour. I try to position it in the middle of two of the radiant loops, for best temperature reading.

Depending on the room use and furniture placement, I try for mid room position. Certainly not under cabinets, beds, partition walls, etc.

If in doubt, throw in a couple runs to different locations. Tube is cheap.

I bring the ends up into a 4" square electrical box for easy acess. A plaster ring will reduce the box to thermostat size.

I have one electrical fish tape that I cut pieces off to tape the sensor to to shove it in with. Short runs can be pushed with just the thermostat wire.

Use heat shrink tube to seal the wire to sensor connection, just to be sure.
