can keep "swinging" for a century with no apparent wear. And it is even more amazing to me that the dead men figured out that it made sense to do it that way.

I must say I have gained a new appreciation for the steam fiiter of today and yesteryear. Being in the middle of replacing a branch of copper, which the previous HO had some plumber fit, to black pipe of the proper size to the second floor I find a new twist and turn to every step. It's too bad that the branch took a 45 to a 90 and over 17 inches before reaching the desired radiator. I got the first portion in from the basement to the 45 and 90 and am working on the short 17 inch horizontal for tomorrow. Of course thinking that this would be done without tearing apart some portion of the walls and ceiling was quite newbish but it's fun to learn from mistakes. With this said I certainly appreciate what you guys do for a living while just delving ever so slightly into the basic piping job. I'm sure most of you must love your job as I do and that's why you continue to learn and perfect yourselves. The Lord bless you all, Daniel0 -
Never underestimate the power of dead men or swing joints...0
