I love to cook, and a fine stove makes it easier.

Here's the Vitodens of all oven/stoves...

The story of how they're bringing this appliance to market is as interesting as the stove technology.

    BUT...

How well will it know seafood? That would be my judging point.

Looks like we'll be hooking gas to electric and bringing in a whole team for the installs of beauties like this.

Heck, I'd like one too!(price point and space considerations MAY make it a bit un-practicle for me.) Chris

    Hmmm...

My former boss and a number of colleages at ADL used to run that business (before they were acquired/allianced by Maytag, IIRC). Interesting concept for sure, and very valuable in many bars, pubs, and similar spaces where very high throughput and prepared meals are the norm.

But I have my doubts re: such an oven in a residential setting... an iPod click-wheel controller? An oven that decides for me how it will cook the meal? Where is the fun in that? For me, cooking is a relaxing activity that takes time... that you share with friends, that is therapeudic, etc. A super-fast oven somehow cuts into the fun factor, IMO.

Then again, you might start cooking the kinds of meals on an everyday basis that you'd never attempt otherwise... so who knows. I'm sure some people will love this product, if only to show off how they can cook a chicken in 15 minutes flat.
