rugs suitable for use on hardwood and cork floors with radiant ?

I read that I should not put tightly woven wool rugs on my radiant heated hardwood and cork floors. What kind of rugs can be used? Sources for these rugs?

    carpet

you can use carpet but it is the type padding or backing that prevents the heat from working as well, I believe.

    Output Graphs for Floor Coverings

If this link works, it shows output of various floor coverings. http://www.heatlink.ca/pro/download.asp?filename=L2301.pdf

    Hmmm...

... any insulation you plave on top of the floor will reduce the heat transfer, therefore reduce the output of your RFH system. A foam layer underneath the carpet (a good idea re: longevity) will only increase the insulative effect. I've been told that the following two suppliers are worth considering re: layers under carpets:

    Sponge Cushion
    902 Armstrong Street
    P.O. Box 709
    Morris, Illinois 60450
    1-800-435-4062
    Fax: 800-423-3557

    Foamex
    1000 Columbia Avenue
    Linwood, PA 19061-3997
    Executive Offices
    Tel 610-859-3000
    or 1-800-776-3626
    Fax: 800-355-3626

We used the foamex product under a wall-to-wall plush carpet in the basement, and I have to say that the room heats great. However, a well-insulated slab is also about the least worrisome RFH system to put a carpet + foam onto. If you use something like suspended tubes that have a very limited output, beware!
