Oxygen Diffusion Barrier

As it pertains to radiant floor heating, there are a lot of tubing lines available.

One manufacturer has a pex-al-pex and a standard pex tubing. Both are rated as "barrier" tubing. The pex-al-pex inherently has the oxygen diffusion built in with the aluminum, and their other standard "B-pex" tubing illustrates the barrier but does not state that it's a EVOH barrier. Additionally, neither type of pex carries the DIN4726 standard.

Am I making to big a deal about this or should I trust my gut and stay away. If I was bidding a commercial job, I would definately argue my case against this line if proposed by my competitors.

Regards,

PR

    EVOH....

Check out the new ROTH Tubing...DuoPex S5
This is Pex C and the tubing is extruded with the EVOH Barrier in the middle of the tubing like Pex-Al-Pex but with the same plyability of regular pex not Pex-Al-Pex...

Check it out...PEX guys should love this type of tubing
