That could be the problem Mike. Here are a few photos that show the valve and loose cap and s shot of the valve stem where I thought it was leaking. The manifold section in the photo is an extra, not the offender.

Heatlink manifold problems

I have done quite a few radiant jobs over the past six years using Heatlink twistseal manifolds. I went to the factory and saw them made and tested and even though they are plastic they seemed to be fit for the job.
I have now seen two supply caps leak, one was a narrowly averted disaster on the fourth floor of a 2 million dollar house that would have cost tens of thousands of dollars in damage.
The rep in Colorado no longer sells them but will help me with the warranty replacement. I may have to change them all out with something else but first he suggests a water quality check.

Has anyone heard of these heatlink manifolds failing?

That would be thier manobloc manifold? The one with o-rings?

I've found that if you don't touch them, they're OK. Otherwise, figure on replacing it with something else.

Plastic has a tendency to change its dimensions with time and heat. Some faster than others. I suspect that they will probably become the root of a class action lawsuit as soon as a between jobs attorney wakes up.

As I recall, this occurred during a winter break at the office. The office manager(?) came in and saw water flowing out the back door. The manifold had blown apart.

Understand, I inherited this job since the installer went under, or at least stopped returning calls.

There are/were other problems with this one, most I can't do anything about because the owner has put quite a bit of money into a marginally performing system that they are convinced (incorrectly, in my opinion) that the system will never work properly.

issue with the Embassy ones last year...10 seperate manifolds , 5 zones..all leaked between the individual blocks...big mess.They were empting 20 gallon buckets weekly...A lot of fresh water was going into that sysytem. I came on the scene 5 years after install and the HO had put up w/ it for almost 2 yrs before I replaced them w/ Wirsbo brass ones....kpc

Make sure the caps aren't stuck to the threads on the valve. I had this happen before. When you open the supply caps the valve starts to unthread and water leaks out. I had to take out about half of them and separate the caps from the valve. I'm not a big fan of the plastic on plastic.

Correction...

I'm thinking of the InFloor Brand. I've had zero experience with that particular manifold.
