    I like the solar modules

they include the pump, fill and purge cocks, air scoop, gauges, check valves, and flowmeter in one nice insulated package.

In this case I removed the 120V Wilo to try out the 12V PV powered Laing solar pump.

It was very windy here yesterday with high, fast moving clouds. As the sun would poke from behind the clouds the Laing would wait about 10 seconds then burst to life.

The flowmeter would bounce up and the thermal energy would flow from the panel.

As the sun went behind the clouds the circ would slowly rev down till the flow meter went to stall. Pretty fun to watch.

The module mounts to the side of this stone lined Vaughn, wit one top element as a back up HW provider. asingle 4X8 panel with a 20 W PV panel. Doesn't get any simpler than this.

Time to start looking up at your roofs :)

I'll report back on the solar goodies at the ISH show next week.

    Good eye

I piped to and from the panels, to the module, with silver soldered type L copper. From the module to the coil and the expansion tank I used pex.

I know some installers pipe from outside mounted arrays with Ecoflex and similar underground pex assemblies.

    hot rod...

could someone use the PC side of the pump thru a relay? to energise a relay, to over ride the current condition in a radiant system to help ameliorate extensive solar gain? maybe?

we have Long Light rays at this time of year,...45 below 30 below and heat gain that dials out room sensors for hours...

just today , i was wondering if the weather station has put together BIN data in an accessible form to input to the Caleffi Profile through the computer ...
