Ive already started my ISH fund for 2009 so I'll see everyone then!

How expensive is it to go? Hotel airfare spending cash,.. I am thinking of saving up about 5k.

    I leave Tuesday

for the ISH show and will be there for Thursday and Friday. Really pumped up for this. I also made a few phone calls and got Jeremy and place. He's been with me for about ten years now and is our service man for plumbing. I am hoping this will "open his eyes" to a whole other world and not only say "Thanks" for years of service but help himmake the step to the next level.

Who knows maybe he'll start reading The Wall.

It could happen Chris ! :)

Who else will be there ??

    It is NOT that expensive!

Jaye (my wife) and I went twice. The many "sponsored" trips are pricey. Everything is first class. The difference with going low-budget/tourist class saves a huge amount of money allows a longer stay to see the country and nearby wonders (I spent only 3 partial days actually at Messe. Jaye only 1-1/2) Found the plumbing side of the show/biz boring, all upscale hyper euro crap mostly new construction and very, very upscale/hi-end related that was interesting, but so was insulation elements, rofing booths, etc. a distraction from my rather narrow desire and focus, that being: hydronics, boilers, burners and emitters - of which there were many, but not more than 15-20 hours worth of gawking over.

Car rentals were cheap. Hotels 20 minutes or more outside of Frankfurt much less expensive and far more luxurious than the inner city digs the "sponsored tours" offerred. We wanted to be near old world castles, not inside a banking mecca of europe.

We paid far less for our air-fare than any "organized and associated tours" were charging. A three or five day euro-rail buddy-pass was a real bargain!

And yes; you can st your watch by the train schedule!

Having two years of German in high school came in very handy. A 100 word vocabulary is helpful, but since beer and bier are pronounced the same...

Have you been before? Do you realize how immense each section of this place is? Jerry and I went twice and it is incredible. Enjoy every minute of your trip.

    FRA for Fraport

The ISH will not be the same with this contingent of Wallies descending upon them.

Best wishes for a safe trip to all those making the show - make sure you end up in the Frankfurt that sits on the bank of the Main! Stupid advice is that? What? You've never showed up in the totally wrong city and argued at the tourist bureau that there must be something going on at the convention center? Not even once? Oh come on... ;)

    Tschüss
