    air in system

This is a repeat of a question I asked two days ago "air vent". Can a faulty air vent allow air into a radiant floor heating system. If there is no leak what ways could air be getting in. Tubing is high quality Stadler cross linked pex. System had worked flawlessly for 14 years. Now lots of air in lines but steady 12 psi pressure. Could anyone point me in the right direction. Thanks

    The real question is:

Is the vent loacted properly? If so, it CANNOT let air into the system. If in the wrong location, it will allow air in and it is not a faulty vent, rather a faulty circulator!

Either a wrongly placed circulator is creating a vacuum at the vent piping area, or a new circulator with higher head is creating a vaccum where not used to exist.

Air Problem , Somthing to Look For

Which type expansion tank is being used ? Diaphragm type ? Is it sticking up rather then hanging down ? Where and how is it connected to the boiler ? Sometimes the bladder tank will loose its charge and if it is sticking up it will act like a air trap . It would collect and release air on pressure change. Would drive you nuts.

    air in lines

Under the supervision of my heating supplier I installed my in floor heat system about 11 years ago. It has worked perfectly until last season when air began to accumulate in the lines. I can purge the air from the system but it returns in a couple of months. Could a faulty expansion tank cause this? It is installed hanging down. Is this correct?

    air vent

Can you describe an "air vent". I installed my own system several years ago but have recently been getting a buildup of air in the lines causing a lack of hot water delivered to the floor.
    Thanks
