Oil Burner Failures

I have a slant fin L30P burner that has failed 3 times in the past 8 years - seems to burn dirty - clogs up - shuts down - properly maintained. Are these systems defective? Anyone else have problems with these systems

Where is it "clogging up", exactly? What service is needed to remedy? What are the combustion readings? Please give more details on the oil supply system - tank location and age, supply piping, etc...0 -
Don't
complain. 3 service calls in 8 years is way below average

I'm with Lurkin. More info please.
Oil lines clogging = Are your filters adequate size for your usage and are they changed regularly? Quality of the oil tank, etc,..
Flues clogging = Adequate combustion air to the boiler room?Dryer lint clogging the burner fan? Proper combustion testing and setup?
There are so many different things it could be. More info would be helpfull.
