Honeywell thermostat question
Line voltage programmable thermostats . Are they compatible for use with Taco 007 circs ? Had a replacement steam boiler with 2 zones off the coil and we could not get the zones to run constantly . The thermostats would turn the circs on for 1 second , then off for 5 repeatedly . While trying to manually increase the temp on the thermostat it would just lose all power for a sec then reset to factory settings . The customer did not have the instructions and the Honeywell website has 0 literature on these almost brand new thermostats .
Thanks in advance .

Go to this website--http://customer.honeywell.com. THIS IS IMPORTANT--scroll down to the very right bottom corner of the page, and enter RLV430 in the bottom box. Click on the arrow to the right of the box. A list of PDF's will appear on the left side of the page. Click on RLV430 for the literature.0 -
The instructions talk it the LRV430 being for electric strip heat. I'm guessing here, but it could be that the stat is looking for a resistive load, which a 007 isn't. You could try callingt the hotline 800-468-1502 or perhaps you can leave a question at http://yourhome.honeywell.com.0 -
Thanks so much Carol
Here's the scoop - before we started the job , the customer asked if we check the function of the thermostats after the system is up and running . Well , that's a red herring question which usually means there's been problems before . After over 1/2 hour of us trying to troubleshoot the thermostats , he finally came out and told us he's had ALOT of trouble with the 2 of them . He claimed he had to reset em 40 TIMES each to get them to work properly . I'm guessing they never worked ( not the thermostats fault at all ) .
We left them off the walls and told him to shoot to a home center and get low voltage Honeywell T-stats . That is a very helpful hint about resistive load T-sats , which we've never seen before . Thanks again Carol .0
