Amtrol Boiler-Mate Control for a mate

A friend who lives near Lebanon, Pa. has an Amtrol WH-7 Boiler Mate with a defucnct controller, contractor does not seem to know when he can get one, currently using some kind of manual lash-up to control DHW temp, but not working. Can anyone help with this, or get him a controller ASAP? I just caught the news about Amtrol filing Chapter 11 this past weekend. Many thanks...MFM

They are still in business and will be. Any distributor can get you the part. They have not gone away.

    Amtrol Parts Availability

Well that is the problem. The distributors in my area don't stock the Smart Controls and the Amtrol factory doesn't have any in stock. They told the distributor that they are only manufacturing them now and it will be a few weeks before they have any stock. Makes you wonder how they are supplying new units? Also makes you wonder if this problem is related to the bankruptcy or if someone at Amtrol fell asleep at the switch?

Wouldn't know...I don't use them. Have taken out more leakers than I care to remember.

    Boilermate Smart Control

There are many F.W. Webb locations in New England that have the 'SmartControl' on their shelf.

    Amtrol Smart Controls

At the moment the Smart Controls are out of stock. The best option is to use a Z-control retrofit kit that will come with the correct plate for the dial type control. The part number is 2704-392.

If you go this route you will need to find out if the Smart Control is being used as the relay for that zone or if it is wired back to a relay panel. If it is not going into a panel you will need to add a relay for that zone.

    Hope this helps.
