We started installing WM ultra oil with the becket NX burner. I was amazed on how quiet they run. A few years back we stoped selling the WM Gold boilers they where way to loud so I was reluctant to try the Ultra. But boy was I wrong and the value is great. Good Job WM

Who makes the quietest oil boiler/burner combo?
Hi Folks,
I've got a customer looking for the lowest noise level possible. Needs 120,000 btu output, no tankless coil. Has a leaking 468 Weil Mclain w/Beckett AFG. We're considering a Crown Freeport CT-4 w/Reillo. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

the chimney...
can make it or break it sometimes....In my experience a 115 Buderus and a carlin ez-1 is very quiet....a riello is what I have but in some chimneys the "riello roar" can be annoying...kpc

The Solaia boilers are pretty quiet too
especially if the burner has a sound-absorbing cover on it, as on a Riello or some Beckett burners.

I like the system 2000 for quiet.
With any burner hook up a pvc outside air kit to quiet it down even further. I like the riello with outside air. I get the riello outside air kits from system 2000 but if you go with a riello and a different boiler, and cant find the riello outside air kit, drop me a line and Ill send you one.

If
sound is an issue there is no quieter oil boiler than System 2000. If that is not an option an NX with outside air in any boiler is #2

do not forget -
the Vitola/Vitoflame option - with cover in place - it wouldn't wake a sleeping baby.0 -
I can second that...
Ms. Vitola has a very sweet disposition.0 -
MUFFLE THIS
surprised nobody menioned the viessmann flue pipe muffler, kills chimney roar from th dreaded riello dragon on just about any boiler

I too am looking for a quiet oil boiler option
Had a chance to listen to a peerless WVDV03 and all you could hear from it when it was running was the riello burner fan. No combustion noise what so ever. Want to look into the Beckett NX burner before I make a decision on a direct vent. Might go crown ODV also....0 -
they are all
Quiet without my hearing aid on.....
Sorry can't help ya here...0 -
noisy boiler
by far and away the system 2000 is the quietest of them all. with buderus the manuf. wants 24inches of horizontal flue pipe to quiet them down.( do we all have that extra roomto move a boiler out that far). on the muffler issue of the veissman and also buderus for what your paying for those boilers (alot) one would think the would have that riello roar figured out. let alone the look, the size, and the extra cost. just get QUIET. thats why the system 2000 is the way to go.0 -
New Peerless is noisy
I was surprised that my new Peerless is very noisy.
It lights with a BANG and then there is a roar when
burning?
Is it installed incorrectly. I got a new chimney liner for the old unlined 40 foot chimney. Is this the problem?
thank,

Your burner is lighting off with a bang because
something's wrong.0 -
Boiler
System 20000 hands down. The Crown Freeport is about the noisiest I think.0 -

Energy Kinetics System 2000
Without a doubt the EK is the quietest boiler that I have ever heard. I have seen many installed in closets in houses without basements. You can stand beside it and hardly know that it is running.0 -
That Riello Roar
They did figure it out, use a Beckett NX, Buderus has one running at their factory.0
