    Is there a way to change an 8182D over to a cold start control? The boiler now has an indirect instead of a tankless and I was trying to save the customer money.

    There probably is a way, but...

    The controls are part of an OEM's package that's approved by AGA, UL, FM or some other regulatory body. Changing it would void the approval, and leave you liable if anything ever went wrong. Probably not what you wanted to hear, but better be safe than in court. Take care.
