Attention Installers !

As stated, this one asked for the papers before the installer had left. Couldn't find them...

I found manuals for the conversion burner....proudly displayed...and they have lived there since then. There were also manuals for the replaced water heater still there...yet the newly installed Takagi "t(h)ankless" water heater manual was no-where to be found.

Ma.Code states that the I/O manual WILL be left with the owner. Where it IS...is up to the installer, but at the source.... is my favorite place. (A hotfile placed on the wall is also my favorite.) Chris

    PLEASE DON'T BE A KNUCKLEHEAD

I think it may be time for all to make a little "checklist " for installation of ALL equipment.

I don't care what order you put things in, or which way you impose this rule...but PLEASE...MAKE THE LAST CHECK FOR THE INSTALL: Have the instruction and installation manuals been left with the unit OR homeowner for future reference?

I was kind of P.O'd today to walk into a job...that was completed 6 months ago, and NOT find the I/O manual anywhere around.

I asked the homeowner and she stated that she had not been given one.... Apparently, it got tossed with the box! NICE!!!

Please make sure that the I/O manuals are left at the job. How are we supposed to fix it when the directions ain't there? (I know I can only remember SO much!) Chris

I decided recently to have the manuals on the wall in a holder that we will make.

I now have a laptop with an air card to download all my manuels at the job. Really helps with copper-fin units & mod cons....before I got the wireless connection, I would drive around and find a connection and download the manuel. :)
