    air vents

I have a 15 year old radiant floor heating system which had worked great until this year it decided to get lots of air into the system. There is a main air vent on top of the air scoop and 4 airvents on the 4 stadler manifolds. All original. Can a malfunctioning air vent suck air in? Two of the air vents spew water and some air. When I open the manual bleed vents I think air is being sucked in then after a few minutes water will come out. Is this possible? Expansion tank ok, consistent 12 psi system pressure. Thanks for any help.

    Air

Could be your gauge is not reading the actual pressure and that the system fill is either shut off or plugged at the pressure reducing valve. You could try attaching a known good gauge to the system to check the pressure or better yet get a professional to look over your system. You can find a professional in your area by selecting the link at the top of the page.

    leak

I don't think there is a leak because the house has a basement and I would probably see it. Although I will try shutting off the auto feed and check it. I think the gauge is working because if I manually feed the system I can watch the pressure rise steadily. I'm trying to gain as much info to help my plumber figure this out when he comes. Thanks for the responses, what about those air vents though?
