I recall once findng an indirect tank with two coils inside. This might be appropriate for a DHW system with solar backup or assist. Unfortunately I've lost the link. Has anyone seen this particular product? Thanks, Mark S.

    There are a couple...

... the vitocell 300B is probably the priciest, and nicest one you could buy. There are others, but like you, they escape me at the moment (I am operating pre-coffee). Based on a quick google review of dual coil water heaters, Coilex and Amtrol seem to make them also. I'm sure there are more mfgrs out there.

Butler solar makes a wand so that you can retrofit solar into a regular water heater.

    thanks for the reply

Post-coffee, I found another brand - Stiebel Eltron -. I've seen the inserts on King Solar. Also some side loop exchangers which could be used with some creative plumbing to the preasure relief valve and drain valve on the bottom.

    most all the solar companies

have dual coil tanks available. Schuco and Oventhrop are a couple that come to mind.

I'd like to find a dual coil tank with an electric element hole.

    Viessmann

Viessmann can make an element fit into the Clean-out cover.

Shipping certain dual coil tanks west of the Mississippi has it's problems. I've tried to get alternate tanks, but only Viessmann has the B300. And can ship them with the trailerload going to Langley, BC. Individual tanks tend to get damaged in shipping.
