i want to install a kickheater in a basement apt. the boiler as it stands : 1 pipe system, switching relay, and a pressuretrol on and old arcoliner boiler. I am thinking about how to control the burner so I don't make any steam yet still provide 180 water for the hydronic. I have a subpanel for the apt. nearby if needed. I ve had some trouble so far trying to get any info, seems nobody is willing to hypothesize with me. can you recommend any particular type of product, I know this type of set up is out there, there is a hot water coil(abandoned) w/ a well for a control, or a can put a well in the manifold. any help would be appreciated greatly.

Buy a copy of Dan Holohan's book "How Come" their is a chapter in their about condensate water heating.
As far as controls use a thermostat and an R845 relay. One relay pole will operate your hot water circulator, and the other pole will operate your burner. Install an aqustat in the boiler water and use it to interrupt the burner circuit (from the new R845 only) to the burner.
