Conversion of standing pilot to electronic ignition on old boile
First thanks to Dan I have learned more about steam systems than some of the pros from your books.I hav 1970 Kewanne boiler, I have had it retubed and don't hav $ for a new unit
I would lik to get rid of the standing pilot & replace it with a Ignition transformer & elec.spark ignitor.Every pro has told me it's not made.Tell me their wrong. The main to the gas valve is 1 1/4 honeywell V48a.If there is a pro in chicago that can do this email me.0 -
Why would you want
to convert it over to EI? It is very possible with that V48 application you are running at pretty high BTU input so I would not suggest doing that conversion as you may be asking for problems with good flame proving. The alternative would be a Flame Safeguard Commercial application which would be very costly and would need boiler company approval for such a design change.0 -
WHat Tim said....
You're about to bite off a chunk of liability that your homeowners insurance probably won't approve should there be an issue...
