How many of you guys size boilers according to a percentage concerning each region? ie. 70% of the actual EDR for the right sized boiler in Cape Cod and 80% of the actual EDR for central MA.

I heard that some steam fitters in MA will size the EDR at 70% - 80% to match a boiler's btu rating in certain areas of MA. So if I have 600 sqft. of radiation you would take 70 or 80 percent of that to install the right boiler size making the edr to match only 480 sqft. Does it make sense? In central MA some use 80% of the edr to match.0 -
