See your complaining posts all over about paople spending time here posting..

kinda ironic eh?

especially loved the one comment about waiting here at the wholesalers for credits from HTP on the customers dime...

some of us are not in the field all the time..or have desk jobs, and occasionally like to help people when we drop in on "The Wall"

Geez Mr. Reardon..who piddled in your cornflakes this week?

I don't know you from adam, but I can't find any advice from you on the 1/2 dozen or so threads you chimed inon...just whining...I looked for you but can't find heatingwhine.com

Have another coffee, or take a nap, anything

I am not trying to be mean or defend an "exclusive club" but I am tired of reading this stuff from you...over and over ad hoc ad naseum...

    Great Site!

Please don't judge this website by some of the long threads that end up with petty arguments and plain dumb comments.

Some members of this industry are extremely jealous of Dan's success with this site and his great seminars. As many of you know Dan is on a cruise and I am quite sure that certain posters are trying to undermine this valuable website.

One in particular is retired and obviously has nothing better to do than stir up the pot and take threads off subject.

I am in no way involved with Dan other than having the utmost respect for his knowledge of wet heating, his witty and educational seminars and his following of true hydronic and steam experts.

Homeowners and heating professionals please wait out some nasty posts and take them with a grain of salt!

This is a terrific resource for all of us!

    Most everyone here

has a thirst for knowledge or wants to share knowledge. Usually both.

The impact this site has had on the prevailing best practices for all forms of wet (or moist) heat can't be trivialized. As for myself, heatinghelp contributors have filled in the many gaps in my knowledge about steam heating, and provide virtually all of my knowledge of modern hydronic heating. I doubt I would have ventured into the steamheat "tuning"/rehab business without it.

Did you ever notice the number of perfectionists that hang around here? I truly enjoy the thoughtful discussions that advance the art in both theory and practice. The pros here are the kind who never stop learning and never stop sharing. Look at some of the attached pictures of contributors' installations, from the perfect steam header arrangements to the jaw-dropping roadmap-like hydronic pumping and distribution systems. Even the people here who call themselves "just a homeowner" often have more intimate knowledge of these heating technologies than some of the pros who've never heard of this site.

And so there's this guy (DH. You know who you are.) who had this crazy notion to start a website called heatinghelp.com. The tone was set at its inception. And so it goes. Just look back at the archives. Or the current threads. Priceless information. Dan H took the risk of money and a chunk of his lifetime to think it and make it happen.

No one held a gun to my head to buy some of Dan's books. They just happen to be the best single volume compendia of information on steam heating or hydronic, imho. I wouldn't be without any of my small collection of books on steam tech, LAOSH included.

This site's become a catalyst for new and renewed ideas on the steam heating medium, exposing steam's strengths and addressing its weaknesses, as they have come to be over time. I wonder who will be the first of our group to start pounding his shoe on the table until we get a small, affordable modulating economized steamer?!

So thanks to Dan et. al. who run the site and all those who contribute so sagely to the body of knowledge of heating both water and water vapor.

Perhaps a sign of success would be the need to remove the "Lost" part of the title, "The Lost Art of Steam Heat."

And all because of this crazy notion to start a website called heatinghelp.com.

EDIT: And the Library! Don't forget the library. Do you have any idea how improbable it is to find all of this cool stuff in one place?

My very first residential boiler clean-adjust-fix-measure etc was a bizarre 1920's gas modulating type with awesome wavy cast iron sections. Dampers actuated with manifold gas pressure pneumatic actuator. Made locally in Cleveland. There it is in the library. I was stunned. The homeowner became almost as enthusiastic about it as I was!

Amen. Dan and The Wall are a treasure chest of information and expert opinion without peer. I am grateful for Dan's foresight and expertise in resurrecting the Dead Men, and I often meet tradespeople whose tool box includes TLAOSH, in various editions. Those tradesmen are the ones who care about installations that work as the DM designed.

    Great Site

I hate to see the petty posts that tarnish this great site! I can't imagine how I would learn and recreate without this forum.

Thanks for your great responses, I am going to try to not dwell on those who abuse this website.
