Pipe Insulation

it should be about half as effective as the moulded stuff.
The moulded stuff has resin binders and inherent layers which assures good R value. The loose stuff can never match the density nor air resistance of the moulded stuff but it is better than nothing.
The least expensive fitting covers rely on fiberglass "diapers" (I call them) covered with white moulded PVC jacket covers and PVC tape. I would to that at least for thermal as well as appearances sake.

OK to use pink fiberglass insulation at joints?
Hi,
I have a bunch of pink fiberglass insulation hanging around (literally), as well as a number of joints to insulate between the standard pipe insulation tubes. Is it ok to use this pink insulation instead of spending money on "yellow" insulation marketed specifically for pipes? What's the difference - if any?
Thanks for any help.
