I have a Polaris water heater that has a drain line that freezes and causes a blockage during extrememly cold weather. Any suggestions for how this can be kept warm enough for the condensate to drain clearly without freezing up???
thanks for any best practices you may have figured out.

drain freeze
Are you draining this thing outside in cold weather??? That's a no-no in anyone's book. If it's the only way to drain by gravity, use a small pump designed for condensate and pump it to a plumbing drain. You can alway heat trace the line and insulate it, but discharging any condensate line or safety valve line to outside just ain't smart !!!!0
