Sharkbite, Tectite, and Cash Acme fittings.

I inherited a radiant heating system orphan , where the builder, (need I say more) used Cash acme sharkbite type fittings to go from pex to Cu. I ripped most of piping out, and re-piped boiler , but there is a zone that still has these fittings, I can't get to. Are they safe to use on heat?

This job and the sale of equipment to HO thread are why the wholesalers are a joke. Builder had 180* water with extuded plates running thru floors. loop lengths of 3/8 tube are plus 400'. One section has plates 1 1/2" below subfloor with air space. Bubble crap throughout. SpacePak in attic has no secondary pan or float switch, blower never shuts off even after supplemental coil is satified, blowing cold air, condensate never installed. DV hood for boiler is 6" above grade and 30" below window, fuel nozzles changed and burner " adjusted" all wrong ,and a few other things.
HO wants me to concentrate only in boiler room, but I'm now concerned about future problems and limiting my liabilty to the many problems. Should I get something in writing?

    Re-pipe so far,
I used the promix 212 which was sold to owner, but builder could not figure injection piping.
The wholesaler did a heat loss using a manufacture's software program, sold them the stuff,I'm told he did not like the piping got pissed off and walked. I left a message with this guy, but he did not return my call.
At least the H.O got concerned when his new wood floors started to warp.

I believe sharkbite fittings are rated to 200f. Specs should be available on cash-acme site.
    I checked the specs -- 200f @ 200psi.

    Interesting

    fittings....

Looks like PVC reducers on the TruFlow manifolds. I also love the caps they have on the manifolds, think they'll hold long?

Yes Jeff, those are PVC bushings, each one leaked.
The caps by the manifold were for the manual set mixing valve that the
carpenter installed after someone told him 180* is too hot.
It did not work out for him, since the circulator is before, so he cut it out and capped.
I did the re-pipe in a day just to get the heat up and running for the spacepak coil, once the tubing issues are corrected I'll go back and work on the injection piping, and wiring some more. I'm swamped with frozen pipes calls now.

    Thanks Ed.
Good to know, not that I'll use them.

i can't quite make out the,...

But it looks like the tstat wiring is touching the copper, in which case the transformer in the otherwise good taco unit took a hit.

Nope Taco SR506 exp ok. Don't need it now anyway.
The L7224 boiler aquastat had the smoke let out of it though.

I have a few of these fittings such as 3/4" caps and 3/4"x 1/2" couplings that I loop together with scrap pex to quickly pressure test heat loops etc. and then remove them and reuse again. saves time
