Indirect Warranties

... enamel over steel is going to be a measurably better insulator than stainless. I propose the exterior insulation of the tank, the shape of the tank, and the exterior plumbing insulation will be a bigger factor.
As for warranties, marketing departments do all sorts of things in the heat of battle that later come back to bite the manufacturer financially.
Given how confused your source seems to be, it might be best to contact Bock directly. I'm sure they'll be happy to set the record straight.

Anybody heard this?
One of our local suppliers told us today that the Bock/Utica Indirects that he stocks no longer have a lifetime warranty, rather 7 years!? He said that he was told that all indirect mfrs are going to follow suit!? Anyone else heard that? When I told him if that was the case, that for the same warranty all around, I'd rather buy a stainless model like W/M or HTP instead of the porcelain over steel that he claims is a better insulator!?

warrantees
haven't heard that one but I can only think of one reason why they would shorten the warrantee......maybe a lot of failures?????? I agree with you on the SS tanks, especially the WM+ tanks. over 200 installed and only one replaced....because it squeeked, not because it leaked. Replaced under warrantee, no questions asked.0 -
Bock warranty
Adam, as far as I know Bock never had a lifetime warranty. I've been in the supply house biz for the last eight years and never seen one with lifetime warrenty, in fact I think they used to offer a five year and increased it to seven. I can also say that I have never hade a warranty claim.

Bill,
The indirects with a CT after the model number were lifetime warranty, anything new with an SK are now seven year. Saw it with my own eyes in the supply whse and confirmed with local rep. FYI, Bock is made by ECR Intl.

Bang for the Buck
The Super-Stor line by HTP is the best piece of equipment out there. Ya I know, Viessmann makes a Great Tank with a better recovery and coil design and I sell it when it fits the job.
But, for Mr and Mrs everyday on a limited budget .... the Super-Stor does the job with a Lifetime warranty. I have had NO Problems with these tanks in the last ten years.

ECR Hot Line Indirect Warranty
The warranty has not been changed due to failures. In fact the warranty has been the same for approximately 10 years. The warranty period for the Hot Line is seven years from the date of manufacture. Here is the URL if anyone would like to view the actual warranty: http://www.ecrinternational.com/secure/upload/document/519.pdf
Thank you.
