Clean a Prestige Boiler?
Why would you, there is no need too! (assuming it is set up and using clean outside air.
Honestly there is no place for the burnt dust, dirt or sulfer to collect as it truly is self cleaning with no areas or low spots for anything to collect in except the bottom, which is the drain and out it goes.
Soon everyone will discover the simple and easy boiler, the Prestige!
Have you seen what it takes to clean a Munchkin, Knight, Baxi, Mascot, Pinnacle, Trinity and all the others that share that same heat exchanger.

Cleaning a Prestige
Sal raised this question in another post...
As per the manual, this is required if flue temps exceed supply temps by 54F. Personally, I've yet to see the flue temp reach or exceed the supply temp.
Cleaning is also recommended if excessively high flue temps start causing error codes.

Have any of you pros received T-T training on cleaning the HX?
Have any of you cleaned a Prestige?
How likely will it be in your estimation that a Prestige needs its HX and flue passages cleaned in a normal environment with normal gas and clean air coming in?
If so, how often?0 -
None of you pros sell Prestiges?

The Prestige is as "self cleaning" as anything can be: The vertical firetube design condenses within the tubes and rinses downward, out the intentionally oversized condensate drain. Should you check the HX after a couple of years? Certainly- as hard as we try, we can't account for all situations where a boiler may exist. Once inspected, you can determine the next interval for inspection, be it two years or five.
I also think that we all agree that some sort of routine inspection of a boiler/system is important. The beauty of the Prestige is that the BIG maintenance will not be an annual event.
If any of you are in the New England area and are interested in seeing the Prestige in operation, let me know and I will bring one to you.
