Floor temps and wood floors

That is high by most standards. 85 is max. but 80 would be better. You stand the chance of damaging the floor eventually at that temp. Do you have pads under the carpet? There are now pads for radiant available that let the heat thru with a lot less R value. Rugs and heavy mats are like insulation on top of hardwood floors.

I just checked the temp of my oak floors with radiant heat. The temp is 85*, except under the throw rugs, where it is 91*. Is that OK?
