Venting/water hammer
Hi Dan,
I got a few questions for you. I hope not too many. I am operating an old Cleaver Brooks steam boiler, 125 HP. Their is no vent anywhere on the steam system except on the condensate tank. Should they be a vent at the end of each branch? If so should it be install on the last radiator? Their is a lots of water hammer in the hardford loop. What can I do to correct that? The boiler goes into a vaccum when it sit for a while. Is that normal? Should I install a vaccum breaker and where should it be install? Their is no piping on the safety valve. Should it be pipe to the outsite or to a drain? This question is about your books. Can we find the content of "A pocket full of Steam problems" or "We got Steam Heat" in "The lost Art of Steam Heating"? An finally, when are you comming back to teach in the DC area?
Thanks for your help.
