Utica SF 3100

What a valuable site! Have referred to it many times in the past for help, and now I need help.
Took over service following Utica boiler being saturated with oil during operation from pump seal blown (According to prior service company) Homeowner was away and neighbor noticed white fumes coming from chimney. Called oil company to repair. Was told that furnace was cleaned out and problem fixed. Later same day neighbor noticed more white fumes from chimney.
We were called and we found boiler stopped up with oil saturated soot. Disassembled boiler and cleaned with degreasers and rinsed with water numerous times. Burned out chimney and took torch to inside of boiler to burn excess oil from steel, a small section at a time.
Installed new target and chamber. On start up installed .50 nozzle and ran boiler for several hours. During burn, gaskets between sections smoked from oil saturation. Continued burn until fumes cleared from chimney. Tore down and cleaned boiler passages and combustion chamber. All burning OK.
Problem is that terrible oil odor in basement, from gaskets between sections.
Will this finally clear up?
Any recommendations

    Oill odor

Did you remove/replace the casing insulation... clean the sheet metal peices, clean & wash the floor area? A product I use sometimes I called "odorgone" - available in powder & spray. I'm sure there are more...
