Rerouting condensate

using gravity no less. An air loop.

Condensate which would cross the door goes down and under in a trench. An air loop goes over the doorway to allow siphon vacuum breaking during higher flow periods. Just make sure that you have at least an inch of differential (something at least)across the door to allow gravity to work.

If a trench is impractical and you have to bury the under-door pipe in concrete, upturn the ends using elbows instead of tees, with cleanout plugs facing up. Use Schedule 80 steel for longevity especially for the buried part.

Hope this helps.

    Condensate running up and over??

I am desiging some new spaces for a small college fieldhouse. I have a condensate line that runs about 3 feet above the floor. The architect has designed a doorway that runs thru my condensate line. Not being an expert at condensate systems I want to know if we can route the condensate line up and over the doorway and then back down. The line is not a main but an 1 1/2" line. I understand that the condensate will back up until the pressure eventually pushes it over the doorway. Is this ok to do or should a small condesate pump be installed?
