    over pressure

Can any one tell me if something is wrong. My steam boiler will work for about 3 to 4 minutes and then shut off. I look at the pressuretrol and it is set to .5 and 1.5. It seams that the boiler builds this pressure up within 3 or 4 minutes, is that normal?

Run cycles are very dependant on system size. If the radiators are hot it is very possible the boiler is cycling properly. I've seen small systems that barely run 30 seconds before shutting down.

Is there a Domestic hot water tankless on the boiler that is maintaining a minimum temperature? If the boiler is already 140-160 or so it may not take that long to build pressure. but if this is the case the short run cycle you hear may just be the boiler maintaining its low limit.
