Leaking Cast Iron Radiators.

Sounds like the nipples between the sections have corroded severely. It does happen eventually, particularly with steam systems which tend to be more corrosive than water systems. Something probably provided the final straw that began the noticeable leaks. Possibly the flushing, possibly even related to the flood that ruined the boiler.
If the rads are not held together with rods running across at top and bottom, I fear the rads are a loss and need to be replaced. If there are rods the rads can be disassembled and the nipples replaced.

Leaking Cast iron Radiators
Had a new steam boiler put in this summer, lost the old one to a flood in the spring.
Now I have 3 large cast iron radiators that are leaking from the joints. I mean like flood leaking. I've shut them off for now, but I know that isn't helping my heat distribution any.
Havent replaced the insulation on the pipes yet, but these radiators never leaked before. Could flushing the system when the new boiler was installed have created this problem? Any quick fixes?0
