Does the pressure in steam lines

affect how steam traps operate? My problem is the one of the convector radiators in my apartment starts banging, I guess water hammer, every time the building engineer turns up the steam pressure in the building.

    why is the supertendant turning up the pressure lower pressure is better the empire state building in NYC works on 2 lbs of steam

    is the super adjusting the pressure of the system??
    or are you thinking that the super manually controls the heat day/night/weekend/holiday 24/hrs???? what type of controls do you have ???--what kind of system--district steam --or a boiler/s ??? are you sure your the building Owner???
