bad L8148E's

We just went through three L8148A controls in the last two weeks.All about 3-4 years old and burn off on the printed circuit board right were the relay is tied into it.
They just don't make them like they used to.

Ive had 2 bad L8148E's in the past 2 weeks. In one the transformer in it just didn't work & cooked the ignition module & gas valve. Has anyone else run into any problems w/ this control recently?

funny you should..

mention it...I have one that works funny sometimes...new install, new home, was doing other work in the basement and noticed that the boiler temp was down to 120 on a call for heat...buner was not kicking in and the aquastat was set for 185....fiddled with the control setting and it started the burner...did it one other time but I let it go by itself. why the wide temp swing, don't know. kpc

8184E vs A

The 8184E is 24v to the gas valve

the 8184A is 110v output

They are not interchangeable...
