    No comment ED...................................................

I've used them ALL. There is none better than Gorton and Hoffmans. I prefer Gortons main vents for capacity. Mad Dog

Home depot doesnt carry those. Do you know if Lowes carries them or do I need to go to a local plumbing supply store?

    local supply store

Home Depot/Lowes doesn't carry them as far as I know. You can try www.pexsupply.com. I bought stuff from there and usually get it on the next day, though of course their warehouse isn't very far away.

    good vents

Good vents cannot be purchased at HD/Lowes. You must go to a good plumbing supply store, and even then, you may not find them. Gortons are the preferred choice by the experts. I've had very good luck with them myself.

    Use Gorton vents

    Ed:

Listen to Mad Dog and go with the Gorton vents. I have Gorton main vents and radiator vents and they work great.

Look up heating/plumbing supply stores nearby. You can also call Ken Kunz at Gorton at (908) 276-1323. He can walk you through venting.

    Is there really...

a big difference between the M-o-M and Gorton's as far as the radiator vents are concerned other than the float? I just bought a bunch of M-o-M vents and they seem to work fine and flow well. My only complaint is some whistling, but for $7 I don't care.

Do Gorton's not whistle at all? I picked up a bunch of Heat-Timer's at the same time, and those are just in another league altogether. Remarkably high quality and a very smart design, IMO.

All they have is Hoffman ... which seem overpriced to me.

I know the M o M's are made with 2 pieces. So far both pieces got loose on a few of mine, not air tight anymore. Aren't the Gortons made from one Solid piece?

    the hoffmans

don't vent anywhere near as fast as the gortons do..the faster you get the air out..the faster the steam gets in..the faster the thermostat gets happy..the faster you can close your wallet..listen to mad dog..he knows..
