ultra fin

Take a look at some of the previous posts on this topic. Ultra fin is not capable of any more output than a more traditional radiant floor application. The floor is the limiting factor or more correctly put, the floor to space transfer coefficient is the limiting factor. The rate and manner in which we introduce energy has no ability to influence the rate and manner in which the floor releases its energy to the space. The claims of increased output are in my opinion incorrect and are not supported by the recognized science and calculations. I suspect that the figures that they state include downward losses as well as upward, or in otherwords the figures are total output of the fin and not total output of the floor.

Hi Kevin...I know a couple of contractors who have used this alot. It is an interesting product that uses high temperature water as the source. Most radiant guys do not believe in this because the idea behind radiant is to lower water temp. BUT... when you have large great rooms with a lot of glass and no wall space for baseboard, it is actually a decent source. I look at it as, it has it's places.0 -
since it is ...
not being mixed down... pretty much baseboard temp...could you still use outdoor reset on it like you can do with fin tube? kpc
