Crossover or Main Vent

but be aware of the required venting capacity.

Venting branch runs
Customer of mine has a two pipe steam system. Radiators have traps, steam mains vent via crossover traps to dry returns.
There is a set of radiators that serve two rooms above the garage that don't heat very well. The traps are good and they do heat but I am told the rooms stay on the cool side. These two radiators are connected to a 1 1/4 branch that runs about 45 feet in the garage and basement. I am thinking that the branch run needs additional venting.
Would this be best done with a crossover or would a steam main air vent suffice? I would have to install tees for either, but only one of course for the vent.
Thanks,

Thanks Dan
Thats what I thought but I thought I'd make sure. Is there any reason crossover traps can't be replaced with main vents as long as the venting capacity is calculated? If so, why did the dead men use them?

Rather than have multiple main vents
they wanted to get all the air to one central point of removal.Retired and loving it.0
