which model
Generally the rollouts trip if the heat exchanger has cracked or one of the rings has let loose. Let me know what model and maybe I can be of more help.

Easiest way to check is
Perform a Carbon Monoxide test in the flue pipe about five seconds after the burners fire, and after the main blower comes on. If you see a change of more than a couple PPM CO in either direction when the blower come on, the HX is breeched in some way, shape, or form.
It could be a crack, it could be a seam that has failed, or, assuming this is an induced draft furnace, 80% or 90% efficiency, with inshot burners, the crimp rings that hold the two halves of the heat exchanger cells together between the horizontal passages have broken allowing the middle of the cells to swell open between the halves.0 -
rings popped
An easy way to see if any rings are popped, pull the blower and see if any pieces of the rings are laying on top of the blower unit, or sometimes in the housing. Customer proably would not notice anything as the heat exchanger is in a vacuum and CO usually does not escape into the home. We have not had very many GNE with popped rings. Also I have seen the liner sized too small (if it is vented into a masonary chimeny)0 -
UNIT IS INSTALLED INTO MASONRY CHIMNEY, NO LINER .tHIS WAS OIL TO GAS CONVERSION ,SHOULD CUSTOMER HAVE LINER .I KNOW THE BY PRODUCTS OF GAS USAULLY DETORIATE THE MORTAR. WOULD THAT CUSE ANY OF THE PROBLEMS I HAVE. THANKS0 -
liner
Yes the chimney should have a liner, unless the furnace has the masonary chimney kit. ICP has one that would adapt to the gne. It basically adds an open air divertor to the chimney. And then you have to run B vent to the chimney and have a water heater installed too.
Anyway if you need a liner, and it was oil converted to gas, you should insulate the liner too, protects the liner from whats left in the chimney. We run b vent to the liner also.
