Weil Mclain Injection control panel piping
VANCE
Member Posts: 3
We are working on a system that has a weil mclain icp panel installed in conjunction with a WM gold gas boiler, for some reason the system pump on the panel itself has been removed and a bypass installed in place. This pump would normally feed the manifold off of which closley spaced tees are attached for supply and return to seperate l.t. zones, each of these zones has its own oo7ifc. I think they were attempting to use the seperate zone pump as the injection panel system pump.Needless to say the system is not maintaining consistant temps. There are 6 L.T. zones fed off of this 1 panel. This system has been in for 8 years and according to the homeowner never worked properly.Should we re install this pump and see what happens.

injection pump missing......
To protect yourself do this....it will take some time and thinking, but reverse engineer the system. Get all the facts and figures and find out what you would do if you were installing it today for the first time. If that pump should be there, put it back. While you will have invested some time, you will look like a hero if your fix works right the first time. It will be time well invested, and educational too. And don't be afraid to ask Weil for some help...great support there.

IPC Panel pumps
I have installed several of the systems. You have one 0010 looking pump running the circulation of the low temp loop and one 007 pump feeding the injection with a throttle valve opposite it.
Both pumps are controlled by a Tekmar the circulation pump is on or off. The injection pump has speed adjustments that are important for proper temp. You also should have to sensors on the piping for the Tekmar to read.
How much stuff are you missing.

Mitch all sensors and other panel components are in place the only thing missing is the oo10 system pump.0 -
Sounds like they are trying to zone and create flow with the 007s. Most likely pulled the 0010 due to a conflict.
Should have kept the 0010 and installed zone valves you can make a manifold and use most any zone valve.
One other question could they have been trying to over come a flow restriction?
Needs a lot of looking into by some one who knows what they are doing and or a client that will pay whatever to get it fixed.
