Supply house CO readings
is forklifts that have not been properly maintained and are making excessively high levels of CO. My belt worn CO detector goes off every time I go to a certain supply house which also by the way burns a waste oil heater.

Do your counter guys a favor .... do a CO test
I am absolutely amazed at the number of HVACR supply houses that have elevated CO readings, even in the counter areas.
Three of the four distrubtors I've done training at this month have been in the 15 to 25 ppm levels - and that's in the evenings after the forklift (the most likely culprit) has been shut down for the day....
These folks are being poisoned all day long...
Here is a photo of an instrument's readings last night:0 -
are you sure your bacharach is calibrated and giving accurate readings ?0 -
Maybe that explains
the deer-in-the-headlights look they sometimes give us....

City streets?
City streets , lots of traffic?? At my supply house during rush hour you almost need a traffic cop to cross the street. The door to the counter area opens right onto the street. I wonder if automobile emmissions could .... ?
Forklifts, you know they are running good when the exhaust burns your eyes and throat. I just walk through the warehouse , these guys are there for 8-9 hrs.0 -
Yep
Plus, I had the NCI and CO-Experts alarms sitting right there reading exactly the same thing....
I calibrate my own instrument probably 1/2 dozen times a month - mostly showing folks how easy it is to calibrate.

May also explain...
May also explain the deer in the headlights look I have as well!!!0 -
CO
most likely cause is the vehicle exhaust at the loading
bay's, in a building without air makeup the fumes just go where the wind sends it. I'm speaking from personal experience
AS on some day's you go home with a headache that isn't
caused by cranky customers.0 -
source?
can human flatulence produce CO?0 -
What type of heat I see so often the "room vented" (notice I did not say Non vented, vent free vent less)units up above the counter blasting down on you in the winter.
No such thing as a vent less unit they are all room vented meaning they put the by products of burning a fossil fuel into the air you breathe0 -
Dr. Tom Greiner stated in his presentation that forklift manufacturers stated to him that they make electric forklifts for warehouses, gas operated forklifts are for outdoors.
