Proper location of a low water cutoff in a hot water boiler

Good morning,
Just trying to figure out the proper location of a low water cut off in a standard Hydronic heating system.
I have read all of the installation manuals for the boilers and there is no mention of a proper location. I read the instructions from the Low water cut offs and they say to contact the boiler manufacturers to see what they say.
It seams no one wants to take the responceability for its location.
Where is every one installing them.and is every one installing them on new installs or taking the time to pop them in if they open a system up for they re customers.
Thanks for listening

I Usually install the LWCO on the supply piping leaving the boiler. 6 to 12 inches above the boiler in a tee before any valves that could isolate the LWCO from the boiler. Just my opinion.
In the boiler, any where above the crown sheet. The same as a steam boiler. I agree there is usually no tapping in residential boilers.0 -

A lwco in a hydronic system belongs in the supply piping, on steam in the boiler above the crown of the fire box.0 -
LWCO
All installs get one on the supply side about a foot above boiler, we also install a manual reset high limit set to 220 degrees.

i think the lwco should be one of the first things you put on the supply as close to the boiler as you can
thanks
