GB 142 and Outdoor Reset

....an Interface from Buderus is in the works and should allow tekmar Modulating Boiler Controls to operate those in the future.

    GB 142 and Outdoor Reset

My understanding is that there is no factory installed one. What have others been doing to address.......Tekmar?

are you not using the RC 10 controller?

if you are, then there is no reason to use an outdoor reset. I guess a little more info on the system design would be helpfull. We have only used them as replacements, so haven't run into that issue yet. I understand from the wall, that Buderus is going to come out with one, or is at least thinking of it. If you are using a zone or pump relay, and wiring through the light green connectors, you should be able to set up like normal, but using the rc10 controller gets you the modulation that you are looking for in the burner.

    GB

The boiler still modulates whether you use the RC10 or not. You do not get the reset feature if the RC10 is not utilized. I have heard later this year the outdoor reset will be released for the GB. Unfortunately the RC10 indoor reset controller does not really fit the average american heat install(multiple temps, multiple zones). It is really suited for a one zone type system(panel rads with trv's or large radiant zone). It is a state of the art boiler. Very user friendly.

do you really think you are going to gain that much

with the outdoor reset? Since the boiler is already monitering the the delta t and modulating the burner on a constant basis, I wonder? I guess we just haven't been doing those systems where it would make much diff.

My problem with indoor reset(The rc-10) is that I dont always want my system water temp to be dictated by the location of one indoor sensor. Id rather have the outdoor temp and heatloss around the entire structure regulate the system water temp.

    tekmar TN-4

Works well for outdoor reset and injection control (multi-temps) and anything else you may want. The control to interface with the GB-142 is in the works. I hope Buderus gets tired of being asked for it and makes it available soon. To Learn More About This Professional, Click Here to Visit Their Ad in "Find A Professional"

    Outdoor reset

Is definitely going to be one of my questions to Buderus next week when I am at the training center. There is a substantial savings for sure with it. Whatever useful information I find out I will post it on the Wall for everyone.
