I know it's Friday night, but i've had a rough 2 weeks and can finally get this off my chest. (Thank GOD!)

Most of us are/have been in the trade for quite a few years now. We deal with things daily that we still aren't so sure about AND things that we know can cause health problems, but seldom do anything about them.

After getting my Dad home this afternoon, after 2 weeks in the hospital made me try to get all of us to consider things we take for granted everyday.

#1 Be careful out there.

#2 See a doctor once in a while...whether you think you need to or not.

#3 Don't take any chances!!!!!

My Dad came home from 2 weeks in hospital after the discovery of colon cancer. The unique and age related circumstances led to the doctors testing further, and finding signs and signals of prostate problems that were not showing YET, but soon to follow.

The doctors decided to do both surgeries at the same time, and spare him from having to go through different procedures with the risks involved. I think they made the right decision, and He's home.

Get the proper tests when age appropriate. Your doctor can and should tell you when that is...but only if you see him/her regularly!!! Get a physical and take the tests they ask you to.Make sure you know , and can give him any family history .Go back for followup appointments and follow their recommendations.

As busy as we all are...if you ain't there to perform the work because you're DEAD...your customers will be really pissed off!

    Good suggestions...

.... and I hope that your father makes a speedy and full recovery. With any luck, the power of percoset, et. al. will make it relatively pain-free as well.

Isn't it funny/tragic how many times we urge homeowners to get their heating equipment serviced once per year, yet how few of us follow that advice for their own bodies? There never is enough time, is there, until you lie on the operating room table?

    Well said...

    Chris,

Well said, I couldn't agree more, we all must look after
    ourselves just as you stated.

How many of us "guys" do that though? I'm guilty of this
myself, we put our families and loved one's first yet forget
if we do not take care of ourselves we can do little to
    help others.

I wish your father a speedy recovery.

    Regards & God Bless, db
