One pipe vs two pipe steam

Member Posts: 4
I have always loved the k.i.s.s. way of doing business. That is why I've always liked one pipe steam. One pipe steam set up properly has many advantages, one being it's simple. Why complicate life with systems that are complicated. Heating with steam comes comes down to how fast can I boil water and get it to the homeowner at a reasonable cost. Has anyone tried designing newer pipe that have the return line built into a single line? Now if they only design plastic pipe for steam. Don't laugh, remember iron pipe for sprinklers? It's now the color of orange (orange plastic pipe). Old idea new technology.

One-pipe steam has it's limitations.
Additionally, there are other reasons two-pipe systems were used. Get a copy of the Lost Art. All you need to know will be found.
