Ted,
I think you mean the CO Experts low level CO monitor. Doc Blue is a good guy and sells these at a good price.

On some of our jobs
Kidde was specified. They showed up as an OEM product with a Johnson Controls or Notifier label on them but were told they were by Kidde. Hard wired we assume and that you want an action output such as dry contacts to a romote alarm and/or unit shut-down? These went to a DDC system by the way. Cost was less than $100 a unit and had battery back-up. I am sure there are others.0 -

Sorry, but the general concensus is that these aren't worth spit.
Just check out what the test button does (doesn't test the sensor...) Or the fact that one study of retail purchased CO detectors found almost 40% failed to operate to spec, and those specs a generally considered to be flawed. They don't meet OSHA workplace guidelines, but are safe for babies and elderly in the home???

CO Detectors
All CO alarms sold in stores or that are UL listed do not go off until just below life threatening levels. They will not prevent permanent disabiling injuries. They provide little or no protection for infants, elderly, persons with heart or respiratory illnesses. By the time they go off you will require medical treatment. Their are only two Low Levels CO Monitors on the market. The most sensitive is the NSI3000. It reads at 5ppm and alarms at 15ppm after 5 minutes. It is battery powered so it can be mounted in proper locations. It is sold exclusively to contractors or those who have taken CO certification training because we don't believe in false alarms.0 -
It's
CO-Experts and you'll find them in the Virtual Trade Show (look on the navigation bar).
It pays to wander off the Wall.Retired and loving it.0 -
Yes Jerry and Dan, those are the ones I was looking for.
thanks

Scary..
This thread gave me a lot of good research material that made me realize just how endangered I, as a common homeowner (though through this site and a couple others I have definitely been bitten by the bug, and that may change to Contractor) by the "CO Alarms" on the market. I have a background in healthcare and this is literally appaling to me, especially the UL requirements.0 -
Good to know Jerry
I do not specify them, my electrical guys do and presume that they have some back-up. But like anything else in engineering it is the inner skeptic that stays out of trouble. You are right about test buttons in general, they are continuity/circuit testers at best.0
