Another scary vent termination.

It's 38 outside Chicago or was last night...I'd have to check again

    heating

I saw this today while finishing a Munchkin/Runtal install.

It was the neighbors house. I think I'll give them a call.

    Let's hope

That the vent isn't an indication of what the rest of the system looks like.

By all means let them know but if the rest of the system looks like that you might be opening up a can of worms.

    Or

The HO didn't like "that ugly pipe sticking out of the house" and cut it off after the installer left.

    Ya' just never know...........

    You're losing sleep

over it now, so you may as well tell them. Tell 'em about the beautiful work you just did at "The Joneses" next door, that'll get them thinking :)

Y'all take care "up there", if it's 36 down here, I don't envy youse guys.

    Chicago in February

a few years ago, was the coldest I've been in my LIFE.

I've been to some of the so-called coldest places on earth, but NOTHING compared to working on those truck engines with bare hands, in an open garage, with the famous Chicago lake winds stripping my skin off.

Trust me, Louisiana-style winter clothing doesn't work in Illinois, we get the low-grade cheapo stuff down here :(

Then my host and I went to a soccer game....they were wearing SHORTS!!!!!!!

Today is supposed to be 70* here, I just don't get it.

    Last minute shopping to do.

Don't freeze your arses off, fella's

    Later, Brian.

I second that...I used to commute by train to work, and standing for 20 minutes on a platform waiting for one is like standing in Santa's Ice House. And when I got to the other end (Chicago) my employer was litteraly 100 feet from the lake.

Though I think the coldest I've ever been is trying to clear my car off in a snowstorm, on top of a hill, in Gillette, WY. The wind coming up that hill was something else altogether.

    You're right Brian

The air coming off the big lakes is just different. I think it picks up moisture, making it feel more "raw" than normal air. We have been working on a large residential job up by Traverse City since the first of November mostly outside. Lot's of slab snowmelt, underground LP tank, gas lines + no windows or doors on the house yet. I'm here to tell you when there's a stiff North wind coming down the bay off of Lake Michigan, you can't get enough clothes on. No such thing. I'll also tell you that heated seats in the pickup are the best investment I made this year!(G)
