master pipefitter licence. one of my pipefitters took it and said the majority of questions were high pressure steam and welding. we do mostly light commercial work so don't get into that too much. any idea what publications i can use as study guides?

Fitters Exam
What did your guy use for study material? IPT's Pipe Trades Handook is an excellent book, and is small enough that it will fit into a jacket pocket or tool box. Not a huge amount of info on steam, as such - it's on piping for all kinds of applications. You wouldn't normally be expected to know all about these applications, it's how to put the piping system in, off an existing design. If nothing else, it's a great reference book, and not very expensive. www.iptbooks.com
If there's an officially recommended book, you should use that, of course. If I didn't have any info on what book I should use, I'd go with the IPT publication.0
