Boiler won't shut off

Based on his e-mail address it looks like he's in your neck of the woods.

Provided he's not yanking our collective chains...

    reach for the power switch......

if that doesn't work turn off the fuel valve. That should get you in control now. Let us know which one you had to use and we can go from there. Safety first! Best Regards.

go to t stat disconnect it *~/:)

if Suddenly as with a blast of magic hit the boiler and it shuts off....you may have found the direct short. if not take a second look at its point of connection to the boiler....disconnect it that should put some light on the reason ..just guessing:)
  • Sounds Like

a plugged syphon (pigtail) under the Pressuretrol High Limit switch. Probably a good idea to get someone there to service it.

is shorted in the thermostat circuit. Locate the wire from the thermostat and disconnect them then turn the switch back on does it stop? If so and the thermostat is level (if it a mercury bulb one)and not out of calibration the wires may be shorted.

If not then there is a short somewhere in the control circuit at the boiler. Disconnect one control at a time to possibly eliminate.

If you can get one tonight call a professional if that does not get it done
